Dr. Cobb likes to get to know his patients and enjoys talking with them. He is deeply committed to helping his patients achieve an excellent quality of life throughout their cancer treatment and afterwards. Dr Cobb introduced specialized oncology services to the Highlands area in 1993 after having a successful practice in New York and serving as Director of Medical Education, Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital for several years.
Dr. Cobb completed his undergraduate work at Boston University, Boston, with a BS in Biology. He then attended Harvard Medical School, which is where he served his Internship as well. He achieved the distinction of Chief Resident at Boston General Hospital. For his Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology, he studied at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. With his inquisitive mind, Dr. Cobb always seeks the latest advances for his patients. Recently, he completed a Physician MBA at the University of South Florida which has helped him structure the practice to be even more accommodating to patients’ needs.

He is licensed to practice medicine in Texas, New York, and Florida. Dr Cobb is actively involved in the community. He serves as Associate Medical Director of the Hospice of the Mountains and is a member of the Board of Trustees as well as a Physician Advisor of Blowing Rock Regional Hospital, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Physicians Health Network (Columbia park).
As his patients know, Dr. Cobb is a firm believer in living life to its fullest. When he is not helping others, you are likely to see him fly fishing, horseback riding with his lovely wife, Anne, bicycling, weight lifting, or reading. He also collects any number of things that interest him – in particular chess sets. Add adventure travel and photography to the mix and you have an idea of how Dr. Cobb practices what he advocates to patients.
